NUDO

Nudo is a welcoming hanger who's function is to receive all of those belongings we want to loose when we arrive home. It's easy to carry, move and fold. The wood strips can hold robes, bags,... and the containor is meant for all those smaller possessions you never know where to keep.
This project is born from the idea of creating a totally stable hanger without the need of using any support sistem other than the two elements Nudo is made of.  A technical and conceptual reference for this project has been Native American's Tipi tents. These are caracterized for its resistence and warmth. In relation to our project, we want to stand up Tipi's portable and detachable structure, characteristics reflected in Nudo.  The first model of this hanger consisted of the union of three pencils, creating a braided-like structure. We were very interested in the shape created by these, generating a tripod's shaped support, characterised by its endurance and resistance.

We visualised this piece as a complement to a house's hall.  Inspired by the collage created by the combination of different styles, often found in contemporany homes, we wanted to create a piece that would be moldable and easily melted in any space.

Prototyping was a key for this project to work . A hanger composed of three sticks and a cloth was a challenge we wanted to push forward, but would we succeed? Would it be stable enough? The different models we made, based on trial and error, are what have led us to find a solution to this challenge.
